Coordinator of Education

The Coordinator of Education is responsible for day to day operations and overall program development, implementation and evaluation of the TORCH Annex Program.

• Review the special education referral packets for admission to program.

• Provide tours to potential enrollees and their family.

• Assume responsibility for school management, supervision and evaluation of staff.

• Provide learning opportunities for staff.

• Seek out, evaluate and introduce, if appropriate, new educational programs and techniques.

• Coordinate day to day transportation.

• Develop and maintain effective communications with parents.

• Serve as member of Inter-disciplinary Team, Intake Committee and Clinical Team.

• Represent school at meetings with outside agencies, school districts, etc.

• Perform other duties as needed.

Qualifications and Requirements:

(SDA), Certificate or New York State School Building Leader (SBL) Certificate or New York State School District Leader (SDL) Certificate.

New York State Certification in Early Childhood Education.

At least (2) two years of lead teacher experience in a program for children less than six years of age and in Special Education.
